PEORIA, IL – Congressman Darin LaHood announced today that the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed his campaign for Congress. The NRA-PVF represents over five million members across the country and is the strongest defender of Second Amendment rights. In their endorsement, the NRA recognized LaHood’s “A” rating, which is given to legislators whose voting record displays a consistent defense of Second Amendment rights.
“On behalf of the National Rifle Association’s 5 million members and law-abiding gun owners across the country, we are proud to endorse Darin LaHood for U.S. Congress,” said NRA-PVF Chairman Chris Cox. “During his time in both the Illinois State Senate and U.S. House Darin has been a friend to Second Amendment supporters, and we appreciate his efforts to preserve law-abiding citizens’ constitutional right to self-protection.”
“I am grateful for the NRA’s support and I am proud to stand up for law-abiding American’s Second Amendment rights,” said LaHood in response to the endorsement. “As an Illinois FOID card owner myself I understand the concern gun owners have about preserving their Second Amendment rights. In the IL-18th district people expect a representative who will fight for those rights, and I will continue to do so.”
